It’s been nearly a year since we started our partnership with Food Cycle and we are very proud to be supporting their mission to tackle food poverty, social isolation and waste food. Their vision at FoodCycle is to have a world where communities unite so that no good food is wasted.
Every first Saturday of the month at 7pm we open up our space and serve delicious food prepared by the Food Cycle team to our local community. Surplus food donated by Sainsbury’s is transformed into hearty wholesome dishes prepared by volunteers, who are supported to learn new skills, work as part of a team and gain self confidence.
They are always looking for new volunteers and everybody is welcome to get involved – whether you’d just like to help chopping veg for a couple of hours on a Saturday morning or you are a culinary expert and would like to do the food pickup and plan our menu for the day…there’s a role for everyone. Please contact Sally on 07947501221 or email [email protected]
This month Food cycle are back at Inkwell on Saturday 8th December. Come along and enjoy a delicious two course meal ( for just £3) help us tackle the issue of food waste, support mental health services and a great cause.
