Genera

As well as all the exciting things happening at Inkwell, for the last three months we have also been leading the Genera Project and hosting workshops and excursions in the run up to Light Night 2015. Since July we’ve worked with around 100 artists offering workshops in Digital media such as animation, lighting and photography, and more traditional art such as painting, sculpture, ceramics and drawings. The project is still ongoing until the end of October and there are more workshops planned. You can see what’s on offer by clicking this link if you’d like to get involved.

The project has been funded by Leeds Inspired which has meant we have been able to work with new artists from across Leeds as well as offer training to our volunteers and artists at Inkwell in facilitation and mental health awareness.

Two excursions also formed part of this summer’s activities: a trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and The Tate in Liverpool both inspired our artists who also enjoyed a spot of Al Fresco painting.

The last few weeks have been a hive of activity where we have been busy building our Light Night installation as well curating for the two exhibitions opening in October.
