On the 14th and 15th December 2017 Leeds Mind were assessed by Investing In Volunteers. We are thrilled to announce that we have been successful in our endeavour and have been awarded the accreditation!

As an organisation started by volunteers, achieving the Investing In Volunteers accreditation is an important landmark and an acknowledgement of Leeds Minds attitudes and values. Members of staff are passionate about valuing volunteers; “Volunteers are so important, some services couldn’t function without volunteers”, “It’s part of the ethos of the place, volunteers are really valued, we have such pride in our volunteers”.

Helen Kemp, Leeds Mind, CEO said; “IiV is not a tick box exercise, we want to invest in volunteers, want them to feel integrated, not an add-on. Our new strategy will look at how we can develop volunteers, they are so integral to the organisation.” Here at Leeds Mind we welcome innovation and continual feedback from volunteers; A volunteer said; “We are always suggesting new ideas and what’s more important is that they listen to your ideas”.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers and staff who took part in the consultation process to make this possible and as part of our ethos, we look to the future to strive to make our services and volunteer experiences even better!
