Jazz Café - Slide Area plays Sunday 17th May

“Last year our Inkwell jazz audience heard from that very rarest of species the jazz trombone. And five of them…..and now they are back!

Leeds College of Music’s “Slide Area” is an exciting five trombone and rhythm section band featuring up and coming jazz trombonists Dan Barley, Tom Smith, Peter New and Patrick Martin. Supported by equally outstanding rhythm section comprising of Jonny Thornton on drums, Roz Macdonald on Bass and Chris Bland on piano. The group pays respect to great trombone groups of JJ Johnson, Kai Winding, Urbie Green and Slide Hampton.

They are led by jazz, freelance trombonist and senior lecturer at LCoM Kevin Holbrough.
