May Day Exhibition - Call for Artists

Spring is here and it’s that time of year again when we’re busy getting ready for our biggest fundraiser of the year - May Day.

As part of our fundraising efforts we hold an annual open exhibition that invites anyone connected to Inkwell ( student, volunteers, participant, friend,tutor) to submit work for our May Day Exhibition.

 

 

 

We want your artwork for the May Day show…

The May Day Exhibition is one of Inkwell’s lead events and is part of our annual May Day fundraiser main event to be held on Sunday May 3rd 2015. This event helps to raise vital funds to support Inkwell’s future development and sustainability.

WHO

This exhibition is open to all artists in our Inkwell community, friends and followers from Facebook and Twitter, artists who have delivered artist talks at Inkwell, students, staff and volunteers, and artists who live in the Leeds area.

WHERE & WHEN

We are charging £5 per artwork and a maximum of 3 pieces per artist, which will cover an area no larger than 1 square metre in total.
Please deliver your artwork(s) along with the £5 entry fee per artwork to Inkwell on Saturday 25th April between 10am and 4pm, Tuesday 28th April between 12 and 4pm or by negotiation.
You will need to attach a delivery note (your own or from Inkwell) to each artwork, please include artist name, title of work, medium, description of artwork (eg. abstract) and price of artwork (retail price includes 20% commission to Inkwell). Please also add your phone number and email address.

THE EXHIBITION LAUNCH

The launch for the exhibition will be on Saturday May 2nd from 5.30pm - 7.30pm.
Invitations will be available soon for you to distribute and post electronically. We would love you and yours to come along and celebrate! It’s a free event with drinks, nibbles and art sales! The exhibition closes on Tuesday 9th June.

ARTIST TALKS

We are also looking for artists to deliver a 10 – 15 minute presentation then a 5 minute Q&A on Friday May 22nd from 6pm – 9pm. Please let us know if you are also interested in taking part in the Artist Talk.

COLLECTION DATE

Please collect your work from Inkwell on Wednesday 10th June from 10am – 5pm.
