This one day course will focus on paint making, using pigments and the primary colours. The tutor will walk through the in’s and out’s of the process in which to make your own oil paint, also covering the rich history of paint making. By the end of the course you will understand the fundamentals of what paint is!

You’ll be invited to use the various tools and materials provided, from beeswax to linseed oil and by the end of the one day you will have got your money’s worth: your own pots of paints which you can use and make any colour you can dream of!

Leading the workshop is part-time artist, part-time tutor Charlie Eden, who has been making his own paints for over 3 years. He’ll walk you through the stages of his process, in an accessible and easy to understand way. Whatever your style of painting; abstract or traditional, the workshop will facilitate you and provide you with the paints you need for your own art projects!

Once you’ve had a go, you won’t regret it. The skills of paint making will make you a resourceful painter, not only that, but you’ll really get to see how the medium of paint works, helping you in your own painting approach.

The course is very versatile and welcomes ages 16+
