‘The Art of Wet Felting’ Course

We are now taking bookings for the Art of Wet Felting Course starting on Saturday 9th November.

The course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn the skill of felting wool using the wet technique. You will be able to create a beautiful felted piece of art, bag, purse, felted beads or jewellery.

 

The course costs:

£18 for adults

£10 for Children and Inkwell referred students *

*Referred students are those who are enrolled onto the Thursday and Friday morning Art Class or Thursday morning ceramics class

 

The first session in this two week course:
November 9th 10.30am - 1pm

Second session:
November 16th 10.30am-1pm

One day workshop on : Saturday 19th October

10.30am – 3.45pm ( 45 minute lunch break)

Cost: £ 20 per adult, £12 for children (Ages 10+)

 

The Abstract Landscape class will encourage you to look at the scenery and environment around you and examine its basic components (shape and colour) in an abstract, non-representational way.

You will be introduced to different mark making techniques and use a wide range of media, including paint, pastel, pen/pencil and embroidery.

Portrait Drawing Workshop

We have a whole range of great sessions and workshops for you this Autumn, one of which is our all day portrait drawing workshop which will be taking place on Saturday October 5th.

 

Explore different approaches to portrait drawing, covering various aspects such as shape, form ,special awareness and proportion while experimenting with different styles and media using line, shade, colour and tone.

Learn how different artists past and present have tackled Portraiture in it’s various forms, starting with straight observed drawing to more experimental styles developed in later art movements.

Explore shading techniques that will enable you to create mood and atmosphere in your drawings.

The aim of this course is ultimately to give anyone the confidence in exploring drawing armed with a strong understanding of how to begin and not being inhibited by a blank sheet of paper.

The Saturday Cafe team are really excited to be able to offer you an exciting new workshop starting on 18th May.

The lovely folks at Swarthmore are doing a double session on ‘An Introduction to Printing’ continuing the following week the 25th May. Perfect for anyone wanting to try out printing and various techniques.

The course is just £5 per session.

We are very excited that this collaboration with Swarthmore has taken off and hope to bring you a variety of new courses for you to enjoy on Saturdays.
