Activities and Groups for Young People

We chose to name the space ‘Interval’ because it means a break;
A break from the pressures of being a teenager.
But it can also mean a space between:
A space between childhood and adulthood
and a space between school and home.

The space is held at Inkwell from 6-9pm on the first and third Thursdays of every month. Donations are welcomed but not required nor expected. They help us to cover the costs of specialist art materials and the warm home-cooked meals we provide.

Interval is a fully inclusive non-judgemental space where everyone is valued. We want to stress that this is not just a space for people who consider themselves to be ‘creative’ or ‘arty’. Interval is for EVERYONE, regardless of whether or not you’ve ever picked up a paintbrush. We value stick men just as much as Mona Lisas. It’s all about being open to try out new things and express yourself.

Each week we will be offering a new bunch of exciting creative activities to try out that offer something for all levels of experience and cover a range of interests: from collage to creative writing, photography to fabric dying and SO much more.

If you prefer to do your own thing you’re more than welcome to get on with an activity individually. And if none of this sounds like your thing, you’re welcome to just come along to relax, listen to music, play games or watch a film.

In addition there will also be a quiet area providing a variety of helpful books and magazines. The group of young volunteers running this space are all dedicated to ensuring your well-being but unfortunately, we can only provide low to intermediate intervention and can’t take on young people in crisis. We are however, more than happy to guide you to additional support &/or resources if you could do with some more help.
